The Fairfield County Chapter of The Links, Incorporated is proud of its commitment to academic achievement, through its scholarship program. Each year our members work diligently to provide financial assistance to young people attending institutions of higher learning. The chapter offers four annual scholarships in the amount of three thousand ($3,000 each) to deserving high school graduating seniors in the following geographic areas: Danbury, Greater Bridgeport, Norwalk,
and Stamford.

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Candidates must have attained at least a B (3.0 out of 4.0 scale or 4.0 out of 5.0 scale) grade point average
  • Candidates must enroll full-time in an accredited two-year or four-year college or university or technical school in the U.S. by the fall of the year the scholarship is awarded or is currently enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited two-year or four-year college or university or technical school in the United States.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or legal resident and must reside in the Danbury, Greater Bridgeport, Norwalk or Stamford area.
  • Scholarships are given for one (1) academic year. Recipients may re-apply yearly. Any unused scholarship monies are to be returned to the Fairfield County Chapter of The Links, Incorporated.

CRITERIA:

  • Academic performance {Grades, Class Rank, SAT scores}
  • Participation in extra-curricula activities
  • Community service/volunteerism
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Self photo
  • Personal video essay (winners only)

STUDENTS MUST SUBMIT BY THE DEADLINE DATE:

  • Completed application
  • Financial need form
  • Official school transcript must be submitted directly to the scholarship committee chairperson by the appropriate school or institution.
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation by professionals who can attest to the student’s achievement (These letters must be mailed directly to the scholarship committee chairperson by the writer.) The letters may not be written by family members or relatives
